Iso Training with Sam & Rob #2 - Please view below the second video training session by Sam & Rob.

The object of the skill is to practice your passing.

Sam and Robs version seen in the video is for a player that is more advanced so don't be overwhelmed if it seems beyond your ability, by all means everyone can have a go. The general premise of the skill is first; to practice kicking the ball on the bounce or 'volley', and second is controlling your pass and weighting your kick to 'hit a target'.
We also suggest you do it outside and we take no responsibility for broken windows!!

To break down the skill;

- The target that is set up doesnt have to be a washing basket, it can be anything, it may be a square set up with the aim to stop or bounce the ball in the square, it could be your trampoline, be creative.

-Place the target at a distance suitable to the players ability, we don't want you kicking the skin off it or 8 year olds trying to land a 50 metre pass. Remember the aim of the drill is to practice controlling and weighting your pass.

- Vary the distance or angle of the target. Also always have a go with with both feet.

- To get the ball off the ground for the volley, we would expect our more advanced players to be able to flick it up with their foot but for our less advanced/experienced or younger players they can bounce the ball. (We do encourage them to practice flicking the ball up at a separate time if it is too hard in this instance.)

- Alternatively Mum, Dad or siblings can also lob the ball to them from a distance of a 'yard' or so apart with the player trying to volley the ball back into their partners hands.

- If it is beyond the players ability to hit the ball from the air, practice from the ground whether the ball be still or moving.

Remember the focus is controlled passing and kicking to a target!!

Have fun!!

It’s National Volunteer Week in Australia this week from May the 20th to 26th May 2019.

We’d like to thank some of our tremendous volunteers that you’ll see on a weekly basis up at Buckby Land Rover Park on Saturday game days as well as throughout the week to allow all of our players to take to the field, players and supporters to be fed, just to name a never ending list of jobs big and small that keep the club running on a daily basis.

This video shows just a few of our valued volunteers but not all and without our volunteers passion we wouldn’t be where we are today.

Once again thank you.

While the strikers may get most of the accolades sometimes it takes key moments from some of the defensive unit.

Couple of big stops from Lachlan Clark and Lindsay Millington to add to Greg Roller and Noah Mies's goal in yesterdays NPL TAS match against Hobart Zebras.

Life is a matter of Black & White -

Here we have a 2 minute long video from our 2008 50th Anniversary of the late Albert Clark who was one of our very first coaches at Launceston Juventus (City).

Albert was the senior coach back in the late 50's and early 60's coaching the side to multiple Northern Premierships and leading the team all the way in 1961 to the State Premiership before coaching Launceston United to a State Premiership in 1967.

As Albert would say "Enjoy it while you can, because there's a time come when you can't"
