Launceston City Football Club is an ambitious and driven club that aims to compete at the highest level across all age groups within the Tasmanian game. We are committed to developing our players, coaches, and volunteers, providing them with a platform to achieve excellence both on and off the field.

Our junior season kicks off annually in mid-April, with games held at Churchill Park, Invermay, and runs through to early September.

How do I register my child to play?

You will need to register your child to play for Launceston City FC through the Play Football portal.

How much does it cost to register?

The cost of registration will be $290 (+$5.74 transaction fee). This covers registration and liabilities for Launceston City Football Club, Football Australia, Football Tasmania and the Northern Tasmania Junior Soccer Association (NTJSA).

What about concessions?

Eligible families are able to use โ€˜Ticket to Playโ€™ vouchers with registration. Ticket to Play provides two vouchers worth up to $100 each towards club membership fees for children aged 5-18 years. Visit this website if you think you may be eligible. Please refer below for further information.

What about sibling discounts?

Families with multiple children registered are eligible for a $20 sibling discount. Please email Meganย for a discount code.

When does the season start? Where do they play?

The season starts on Saturday 11 April 2026, with two seeding rounds for selected age groups. Round 1 begins on Saturday 2 May 2026.

Games are played on Friday evenings (Div 1 U14) or Saturdays at Churchill Park, Invermay. Rosters are published by NTJSA in the DRIBL app and will be released closer to the season start.

What does a player wear?

Players are required to wear a Launceston City FC playing top (strip), which costs $35. Players will also need black shorts, black football socks, shin pads and football boots.

Strips, shorts, socks and selected apparel items will be available through our online store. Macron details to follow soon.

What age can my child start playing?

Children turning 5 in 2026 are eligible to play. All children born in 2021 can register for the 2026 season.

When & where does training occur?

Training is held at our home ground, Prospect Vale Park in Prospect Vale. Junior teams train once per week on a set day and time, which is determined by the coach.

Children can wear any comfortable clothing to training, but must wear shin pads and football boots. Training will start in March for most age groups. Our Opal Juventus Development Academy and Optus WSL Futures Pathway program begin in February.

When will I know my childโ€™s team?

Our volunteer committee will begin allocating teams from 1 March 2026. Players, parents and coaches will be notified by email once allocations are complete.

We do our best to consider requests, but with around 600 players we canโ€™t guarantee every request can be met.

What are the clubโ€™s Child Safety policies?

Launceston City FC is committed to providing a safe and inclusive environment for all children and young people. Our coaches and committee members complete Child Safeguarding training and hold a current Working with Vulnerable People registration.

Can I volunteer?

Yes, and weโ€™d love your help.

We canโ€™t run junior teams without volunteers. If youโ€™d like to register as a Junior Coach or Team Manager, you can do this in the Play Football portal when you register your child. Otherwise, contact us to find out more.
