Have we ever mentioned how awesome our supporters and player parents are at our club!

We really are blessed and thanks to their support and generosity our club has been the lucky recipient of a donation from San Remo under this recently held competition!

Whilst the individuals who nominated us wished to remain anonymous, we wanted to say a huge thank you to them and San Remo on behalf of everyone here at Launceston City FC as this helps us to purchase new equipment and improve facilities around the club for the benefit of all our players and hard working volunteers!

We used a but of pasta this year!!!๐Ÿ˜Š

We’re so glad we could help you kick some goals ๐Ÿ˜โšฝ๏ธ

Please help us congratulate Amelie Millar and Daniel Wojcik who were our two nominees for the 2021 Tom Strickland Award at the NTJSA Dinner on Saturday night.

Amelie is a young goalkeeper who was also selected in the U14 State Girls squad at just 12 years of age. She represented our club in both U12 Mixed and U13 Girls, where she was ever-reliable in the most important position on the pitch. Amelie shows her commitment by being at the club most nights of the week training with either her Girls team or in our Academy, whilst also attending our Goalkeeper Academy where she is mentored by our NPL GK Lachie Clark who says her technical ability is among the best he has seen for a young goalkeeper.

Daniel represented our club in our Tier One U13 team even though he is yet to turn 12 years old. He has an extremely high work rate and plays with a level of maturity above his years. He can play any field position required but looks most comfortable in the midfield. His ability to read the game and use clever body positioning with a great first touch when receiving is supported by his comfort on the ball. Dan is also at the club most nights of the week, training in our Academy as well as individual one-on-one sessions and at times joining in with our U16 Youth team training where aside from his size, he didn't look out of place.

Both playerโ€™s coaches say they are a pleasure to coach, always turning up with a positive attitude, and are leaders on and off the pitch.

Both players have big futures in the game if they stick at it and we can't wait to watch them rise through the grades at Launceston City.

A big shout out and thank you to our awesome MC for our awards dinner, Rachel Millwood of Millwood Media.

How lucky are we to have a professional such as Rachel to help out as MC for our end of season presentations.

The evening also gave us the opportunity to formally congratulate Rachel on her recent appointment to the board of Football Tasmania.

Rachel was one of a team of volunteers who worked to make the evening such a huge success and as enjoyable as possible for everyone! We would be lost without her! Thanks Rachel.

O wow Rachel you are a star

Daniel Smith was recognised for his involvement around the club throughout 2021 and received the Committee's Player of the Year award.

When Dan wasn't scoring goals or taking to the field for our NPL side, you would find him coaching the Under 18's or helping wherever he could around the club.

A big thank you, Dan, for your help and involvement throughout 2021 and over the years performing various roles, it's very much appreciated!
